One of the.most heralded prep prospects ever to come out of Wisconsin will stay home to play college basketball for his father. Turning down Duke University and other blue bloods, Sussex Hamilton's Patrick Baldwin Jr. announces he will be playing UW-Milwaukee, a member of the Horizon League. A five-star recruit, Baldwin is easily the highest profile recruit ever landed by Milwaukee. Most rankings have the 6'9" forward rated in the top-five nationally. Other highly ranked prospects to come out of Wisconsin over the past 20 years include Tyler Herro, Diamond Stone, Kevon Looney, Henry Ellison, Sam Dekker, Brian Butch, Jalen Johnson and Sam and Joey Hauser. Baldwin served as the primary ball-handler for Sussex Hamilton and shot the three-ball at a 39.7 percent clip. His mid-range and inside game ranks highly.
"The thought of playing for my dad was too good to pass up," Baldwin said. "In today's day and age you see mid-majors having great success, most recently Loyola and Oral Roberts." Milwaukee has struggled under Baldwin over the past four years with a 47-70 record. Having has son on the team for at least one season will improve the team's fortunes.
