The surviving ranks of Vince Lombardi era Green Bay Packers continues to dwindle as former cornerback Herb Adderley dies. Since 2018 Adderley, fullback Jim Taylor, quarterback Bart Starr, center Forrest Gregg, defensive end Willie Davis and safety Willie Wood have passed on.
The 12th overall pick of the 1961 NFL Draft out of Michigan State University, Adderley played on all five of Lombardi's championship squads in nine years with the trade. After a holdout in 1970, Adderley was dealt to the Dallas Cowboys where he earned a sixth championship ring. In all, Adderley played in four of the first six Super Bowls. Cousin Nasir Adderley is currently a safety with the Los Angeles Chargers.
